Description:
A lock washer, also known as a wide washer, is thicker than a standard washer and has a larger outer diameter, making it the heaviest of all standard washers. A lock washer is used to increase the surface area of the fastener, thereby distributing the force more evenly over the surface to be fastened. As it is flat on both sides, it can also be used as a spacer, and is often used with wood to avoid pulling into the material.
The lock washer is made of A2 stainless steel, which provides resistance to corrosion and oxidation.
