Description:
The locking nut, also known as a self-locking nut with plastic ( nylon ), is designed for use in situations where movement or vibration could cause a standard nut to unlock. Due to the friction created by the plastic ( nylon ) against the threads of the bolt, the nut cannot loosen and closes tightly.
